If you’ve never tried GoogleTalk, I highly recommend that you do. You can add the GoogleTalk gadget to you iGoogle startpage, or you can download the GoogleTalk desktop client.

This tutorial will show you how to open the GoogleTalk gadget in your Firefox sidebar.

Just right-click on the link below and choose “Bookmark This Link.” Then save it as you would any other bookmark:

http://talkgadget.google.com/talkgadget/client

Next, go to the bookmark that you just saved and right-click on it.

Click on “Properties”:

 

 

Check the box labeled “Load this bookmark in the sidebar”:

 

 

The next time you click on the bookmark, GoogleTalk will open in your sidebar.
