Fission

You can download it from the Firefox Add-Ons site.

This extension combines your progress bar and address bar. Safari browser users will find this to be very familiar.

There are some customizations that you can make.

Let’s look at the Fission options window:

You can change the color of the progress bar, as well as upload an image that will appear in the background as the page loads.

There are also 3 check boxes to choose from.

Checking the box labeled “Progress bar at the right of the address bar” will cause your progress bar to look like the screenshot below:

Checking “Connection status at the right of the status bar” will produce the following:

Checking “Active link/mouse-over link in the address bar” will give you the following:

The symbol that I highlighted above indicates that you are looking at a mouse-over link.
