StatusbarEx is a Firefox Extension.

You can download it from the developer’s website or the Firefox Add-Ons site.

This is a handy little extension that lets you know how much of your computer’s resources Firefox is using.

After installing this extension, you’ll see the following in your browser statusbar:

 

 

As you can see above, my computer has 512M of RAM, of which 114M was being used by all of my open programs.

 

 

Of the 114M being used, 24M, or 3% of total CPU usage, can be attributed to Firefox.

 

 

Finally, the last section above displays your Network Speed.

Clicking anywhere on StatusbarEx will cause the Options Window to appear. You can change the color of the text, as well as what statistics you would like to show/hide:
