Yahoo! Mail Notifier is a Firefox Extension.

You can download it from the Firefox Add-Ons site.

This extension allows you to stay on top of your Yahoo! Mail account(s) right from your Firefox browser window.

After installing this extension, you will be immediately greeted with a login screen:

 

 

Here you enter your Yahoo! username and password. This extention does support multiple Yahoo! Mail accounts; however, you can only be logged in to one at a time.

After logging in, take a look at the bottom right corner of your Firefox status bar. You’ll notice a small envelope with a number to the right of it. This is how many unread messages you have in you Yahoo! Mail account.

 

 

Double-click on the envelope icon and you will be taken directly to your Yahoo! Mail homepage.

Right-click on the icon and you will be given the following menu:

 

 

Let’s take a look at the “Preferences”:

 

 

By default, this extension checks your Yahoo! Mail account every 5 minutes. But you can change that in the “Mail Checking Preferences” section.

In the “Clicking Preferences” section, you can customize the actions of your mouse clicks.

Finally, in “Notification Preferences,” you can setup pop-up notifications, alerts, and even sounds!

If you’re the type of person that logs into your Yahoo! Mail account a thousand time a day to see if you have any new mail, this extension may be for you!
