Smart Digg Button is a Firefox Extension.

You can download it from the developer’s website.

Manually submitting stories to Digg can be time consuming:

• First you have to copy the URL of the story you’d like to Digg.
• Then you have to bring up Digg’s submission form.
• Then you paste the story and search to see if the story has already been Dugg…and oftentimes it has!

Well, the Smart Digg Button takes away most of the work!

If a website that you are visiting has been Dugg, you’ll know right away by looking at your status bar:

 

 

As you can see, the above site had 19 Diggs.

Let’s say you’d like to Digg the story up to 20…All you have to do is click on the “19 Diggs” in your status bar and you’ll be taken to that site’s Digg page.

What if the site that you’re visiting hasn’t been Dugg?

In that case, you’ll see the following in your status bar:

 

 

If you’d like to be the first to submit the story, just click on “Digg This” and you’ll be taken to Digg’s submission form.

What a time saver!
