Yes, you can have Google Notebook open in the Firefox sidebar. If a person would rather do this, there probably would be no need for downloading the extension.

And if expanded it can be dragged to, say, the left side and appears about the size of a side bar; however also blocking the webpage. So how can you copy from that webpage? To overcome this, I bookmarked it and placed the bookmark in the Personal Tool Bar. ( For the button title used G-Ntbk for brevity). Then simply click on the button and it opens as a sidebar and reduces the size of the web page, but does not cover it.
