Yes, you can have Google Notebook open in the Firefox sidebar. If a person would rather do this, there probably would be no need for downloading the extension.

		<description>The difficulty with the extension is that it covers a portion of the web page being viewed.  And if expanded it can be dragged to, say, the left side and appears about the size of a side bar; however also blocking the webpage.  So how can you copy from that webpage?

To overcome this, I bookmarked it and placed the bookmark in the Personal Tool Bar. ( For the button title used G-Ntbk for brevity).   Then simply click on the button and it opens as a sidebar and reduces the size of the web page, but does not cover it.  The link for the bookmark is:
