Save Session
Save Session is a Firefox Extension.
You can download it from the Firefox Add-Ons site.
Let’s say you’re working in your Firefox browser and you have 3 open tabs.
By default, when you close your browser window, and reopen it, the 3 tabs will be gone.
But what if you don’t want to start with a fresh browser next time? What if you’d like to start with your 3 previous tabs (i.e., your last session)?
Well, the Save Session extension allows you to do just that. Clicking on the Save Session toolbar button will close your browser window; however, it will remember the 3 tabs that you have open. And the next time you start up your browser, those same 3 tabs will startup with it.
After installing the Save Session extension, you will have to manually place the button onto your toolbar. This is how it’s done:
First, go to the top of your browser and click View > Toolbars > Customize:

The “Customize Toolbar” window will appear. Find the “Save Session & Exit” button:

Left-click on the button and drag it to your toolbar:

In the screenshot below, you’ll notice 3 open tabs (CyberNet News, Google, Live Search).
Clicking on the Save Session button will close the browser window. However, when the browser is restarted, those same 3 tabs will reopen with it.

You do not have to save your session every time you close your browser window. If you’d like to start with a fresh browser next time, just close Firefox as you normally would.
What if you don’t have room for any more buttons on your toolbar?
No Problem!
You can save your session without the use of a toolbar button by clicking on File > Save Session & Exit:
